Bangkok Trip 2008! Went to bangkok with dearie, audrey and chris. We, as 2 couples, decided to go and booked everything on april. This is my first time travelling on plane without my mummy beside me. And also the first time travelling on plane w dearie. So exciting.
The day before, was not preparing my luggage cos i have to do sth else. So did a so called last min packing up. Dearie changed currency also. we changed ard $800+ cos i exchange my ringgit with thai from my bro. So total we have $1000+. 3rd uncle required me to help him to "tian you", so do mum and sis. So they all gave me $ to help them.
Early morning at 415, mum bring me and mike to airport, budget terminal. Supposely to meet aud and chris at 415 cos aud requested to reach early to have better seats. But they are late. So check in ard 430. Heng gt gd seats. So me and dearie decided to go in first and have our dim sum breakfast cos no food and drinks on plane. So we went ahead without the 2 of them who had their breakfast @Han's.

We reached there ard 9plus to 10 in the morning. At airport, made arrangement of a day tour to go to Chao Phraya River and arranged for a taxi. Check in to Baiyoke boutique hotel. The hotel is just behind Baiyoke Sky and it is quite a back alley kind. But the lobby and room is exactly similar to the ones i saw on the website. So overall i think quite satisfied. Headed dwn to chatuchak for our lunch and shopping spree. On our way, took a cab and dearie was like entertaining the driver all the way. So funny. Talked alot and alot. Reached there and Dearie is shocked to see so many shops. I told him there are 15000 shops and cant walked everything one. Sure lost. Indeed, we were lost when we are finding our way back. So funny. The clock tower is our trademark to recognised the way back, but still lost. Went to the alley of pets. Saw so many dogs puppies ard. So lovely. They are so adorable. Gosh! I simply love them. Keep taking photos w them but they just cant sit still. But they are so small in size. Touch them and sayang them! *grinz* Afterall which, we proceed on and shopping. Brought skirts, tops, tees and slippers there. All dearie bargained. And he gt a thrill in bargaining with the owners. So funny! He keeps saying the same phrase to every owner and they really sell cheap to us. So anyone gng, ask my dearie for advice on bargainning. *lolz*

After Chatuchak, went back hotel to rest a while. All of us are too tired to walk ard. Before we headed dwn to our destination, an uncle outside pratuman started chatting with dearie saying abt lucky buddha etc. Saying that it is our lucky day cos today is an ausupicious day for the lucky buddha. So we believe him since the tuk tuk cost like 60baht. And tuk tuk brought us to the temple and another uncle came talking to dearie again. This time is talking abt Orange sappire. So he is saying we are lucky cos today is thai export day. So we listened, but tuk tuk brought us to thai export and we walked one round. Before we reach Siam center, tuk tuk gt a saman from police officer for driving at the wrong lane. So he was fined for 100 baht. So we are asked to walk there on ourself. We handed him 100 baht but he says he gt no change. So we are like, oh dear how? And the police changed with us small notes. We just give exact without giving him the tips. Tuk Tuk is so unlucky. Bring us and tot we give tips, but we give him exact.

After that, we headed dwn to Siam center and Siam paragon to take a look before proceeding our way back to hotel. Along the way, we ate alot of stuff. Love the hot and spicy squid that cost 60baht. So cheap and nice. In love with it when the first time we all ate it. Then we also drank pepsi. Their glass bottle pepsi is the best. So nice and the feeling is so gd when u drank dwn ur throat. Ate the crispy chicken wings. Gosh! We are in love with the roadside food. So we eat and eat, shop and shop. So nice feeling. And all of a sudden, it started to drizzle. So we thought that it will be soon over cos drizzling only. Saw those stall holders closing their stalls by stalls. We thought that the rain will eventually stopped. So we are near to our hotel. Need to walk like 5 - 10 mins before we reached. So we asked each other if we need to hog on the taxi and go back. All agreed. So we started asking the rate.
Dearie: On meter to baiyoke boutique?
Driver: No no, 100 baht
Dearie: On meter la.
Driver: NoNo, 100 baht
We walked away and proceed to the next taxi that is just behind the one we asked.

Driver: No no, 80 baht
So we refused cos we think that they are trying to "chop" us. So we all agreed to walk since the rain wasnt that big. And guess what, when we are walking half way, it started raining. Yes, raining. Dont know why bkk rain drops are so big that we are all drenched. So funny. We are like "hurry hurry! In front only" whereby it is still so far. So we take a shelter at Pratuman. By that time, we are all wet. And we are like thinking back of the taxi. Just 80 baht which is like S$2.50 and we refused and all of us are wet like shyt. And $2.50 divide by 4 is like cents and we rejected the offer. What is wrong with us? So funny and comical. We ended up eating our drenched chicken wings and diluted pepsi while waiting for the endless rain. Yes, is endless cos there is non stop rain even after we headed back to hotel after the long wait for like 3 hrs. Ended off our day with everyone wet wet. *laugh*

Next morning, we woke up very early cos we are heading to our day tour, chao phraya river. Met up with our tour guide and we asked him abt cabaret show. So he says he will arrange for us. And yes, my dearie contd and ask abt "tiger" show. dearie become very interested in knowing details abt these shows. Chatted with the tour guide. Sitting on the boat led us to many temples around us. Thailand is really a buddhism country whereby everywhere u go, u will get to see temples ard u. The boat stops on the river and let us see those holy fishes that is hungry for food. They are huge and hungry for food. Tourists keep throwing the bread and fishes are fighting for it. Water splashing and splashing. These fishes are not allowed to be eaten cos it is said to be holy as they are near to temple and protect the temple. Amazing ah? After the ride, went to snake farm to see performance on snakes. There is a mini zoo, that has monkeys, parrot, bear, snakes. The monkeys are cute and naughty. Dearie and I love monkey cos of its mischievious. *grinz*

After the ride, we suggested gng to Grand Palace and WatPo. So the tour guide drops us at grand palace. in the end, dearie and I went in only cos aud doesnt want to. so we bought the tix and headed in. Indeed, grand palace is like a palace. Everywhere is so majestic. I pray cos dearie says so. I like grand palace cos it is so grand. It is all gold. The area is so big. Unbelievable. Headed dwn to wat po to see the sleeping buddha. The sleeping buddha is very huge too. We started to so called make a wish by throwing coins into the bowls that is along the sleeping buddha. A long stretch. But these places are indeed a must see when u go to bangkok.

After which, we headed dwn to chinatown for lunch. We tried to search chinatown on our own. But we found ourselves lost. So we began asking ppl ard us. Different ppl gives us different directions. In the end, we are back into the same place where we starts. But some thais are so nice that they direct us the way and helped us to ask other ppl who are more familiar. So we reached the real chinatown like 4plus. Gosh! Wonder is to eat lunch or dinner. *blehz* Saw a stall selling bird nest so we headed in for a drink. Totally is like agar agar. Not real ones. Anyway, we went to find the restaurant that aud wanted to eat. And we found. Apparently, it wasnt nice at all. The seafood is not nice. Not really fresh and not worth that $. Anyway, it is okay, a experience. Went back to hotel to meet up with tour guide to bring us to cabaret show that is a Asia hotel. I must say, it is the nicest show. It is very nice, funny, comical and worth the price. I strongly recommend. Will go back and watch when im there again. Took photos with those ladyboys. And we thought dont have to give tips until one of them talked to dearie using hand sign then we realised. So funny! But i must say, some ladyboys are pretty.

Alright, for the "tiger" show, i dun think it is nice. The girls are not pretty and the man is an uncle. I think it shld improve. It really turns u off when u see them. Not nice at all. But me and aud are like making fun and laughing. We are creating jokes on ourselves. Still an experience. So we watched finished and headed to patpong and shop. Nothing much as the things are mostly imitation. Dearie bought a slippers that is priced at 1200 baht and bargain until 200baht. Can u see the difference? So it is so true that u have to bargain alot when u realised they are chopping u. *grinz* So, we ended off our long long day.
3rd day, we headed dwn to mbk to shop. Real shop this time round. We bought alot cos this is so called the last min shopping. Really enjoy shopping there. did manicure and pedicure there too. It is nice and cheap. Both mani and pedi costs 400 baht (S$16). Cheap right? Apparently, aud and i are so impressed with their art till aud went to buy top coat and apply to protect it. We basically spend our day at mbk cos we had a late shopping. Back to hotel to put stuff before heading to suam lum. Rain again. Was struck at the hotel waiting for taxi. We managed to reach suam lum but the roadside stalls are all closed. Have to shop at the stalls. Not so bad cos we managed to buy shoes and slippers and mickey & Minnie mugs. So that is to call off our day again.
last day means last min shopping. Dearie and I woke up early and went to pray at four faced buddha without aud and chris. They wanna to sleep more so we go without them. Walked to platinum mall and along the way, we bought things to eat and shop. It is always nice to shop near the roadside cos u never had that feeling in spore. (Dont tell me pasar malan ok? It is very different~) Platinum mall is wholesaler market. Went ard and see dress for sis wedding. Found one eventually. So nice and it is silky materials. Guess wad? It cost only 250baht (S$12). Woohoo! So i still bought another one for my office wear. Enjoy shopping man! Headed to pratuman market to shop before we go back hotel. So crowded! Dearie and i ate our last squid and pepsi from there. We certainly missed the food cos it is toooooo yummy!
And so, here i am in singapore! Back with many stuff for myself, family and dearie. Our luggage overweighed! But it is not my fault cos im not the one. But they say its me. Okay, next time i bring empty luggage go and back with stuff! *grinz*
Anyway, must thanks dearie for those PR skills with taxi uncles, tour guides, etc. Dearie is really the one who is interacting with those thais. They keep on talking to him and making alot of fun to our trip. dearie loves bargaining now! and also he loves bkk cos of the cheap stuff. *grinz* We go back again next yr ok?Yeah!
